Assam police constable salary
If you want to be constable in the Assam police department, you should be 12th pass. You have two choices to join armed or unarmed forces as a government employee.
You will have to appear in a physical screening test & physical measurement test.
PMT is just to check out height weight and any chronic disease. There are no marks for Physical Measurement test. However physical screening test is conducted manually with Race and Long Jump and 40 marks are assigned to it. Following are the criteria for the race.
Race for Men: 3.2KM, Women candidates: 1.6KM
Long Jump for Men: 335cm for men, Women Candidates: 244cm

- Level of Questions: 9th & 10th Standard
- Total Marks: 50
- Negative Marking: No
There are 10 marks allocated for extracurricular activities such as outstanding marks in 10th or 12th board examination, NCC trained candidates, proficiency in computers and the ITI and diploma or Diploma in Engineering certificate holders.
After successful selection in the examination process, the candidate is appointed as a Constable in Assam Police department. The basic pay of police constable before 7th CPC was 5200-20200 with GP of 2200. As the 7th pay commission already implemented for Assam Government employees. The revised pay scale is 14000 – 49000 with Grade Pay of 5600 in pay band -II.

On including dearness allowance and house rent allowance employee provident fund the total salary of constable comes around Rupees 27,500/- per month.
Apart from this employee will also get a yearly increment at the rate of 3% on his/her basic pay.
After 1st promotion Constable can become a Head Constable. The promotion totally depends on the available vacancy in the upper cadre.
Assam Police Sub Inspector salary
The Sub Inspector is a group C post in The police department. He mostly assigned the charge of a police station. The Constable and head constable directly report to him.
If you want to be a sub-inspector in the Assam Police department you must be a graduate from any discipline. Your age should be between 20 to 24 years old. However, there is a relaxation for the candidate belonging to the reserved category. To become an SI one should be a graduate from government recognized University or college. And he/she should apply online registration form official website.
The first step in the selection process is written the examination. Thereafter like a constable, there is a physical screening test, physical measurement test & written paper. The Physical Measurements is qualifying in nature and there are no marks associated with them. However, there are 20% marks associated with a Physical screening test. After successful selection in the Assam Sub Inspector exam candidate appointed as ASI in the police department in the revised pay of 7th CPC 14000-49000 with Grade pay 8700 in the Pay Band –II.
The total per month salary is shown in the table mentioned above.
You can see that a Sub Inspector in Assam gets the gross salary of 32,000 per month. If he takes government residential quarter, he will won’t get HRA. Other BRA will be paid and added to salary as per government of India Guidelines.
Jail Warder Salary
Jail Warder is also is group C post in pay band two whose pay scale is 14000-49000 with grade pay of 5000. The candidate must have age between 18 to 38 years and 10th class pass. For the female candidates, the minimum qualification is just 8th pass or equivalent from government recognized board. The salary breakup of Jail warder in Assam already shown with the Constable pay breakup in the 1st table of this article. So a Jail warder gets total Rs 26,500 Per month.
