BSNL TTAs pay structure
BSNL TTA external recruitment advertisement has been notified and Junior Engineer (JE) online registration process has been started. The applicant’s response to the Junior Engineer post is very high. Many candidates are asking for TTA in hand salary and other benefits. So I have decided to share the salary structure of Telecom Technical assistant in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is a largest telecom Public sector undertaking company. In Government sector generally two types of pay structure are followed
- Central Dearness Allowances: It is commonly known as CDA pay structure. It is only for central Government departments not for the PSUs like BSNL. CDA scales are revised after every 10 years of the period. Pay commissions like the 6th Pay Commission or 7th Pay commission are for pure central government employees.
- Industrial Dearness Allowances: It is commonly known as IDA pay structure. This salary structure is for all Governments company like Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, NTPC, BHEL & much more. Like CDA pay IDA structure also revised after every 10 years. Next TTA Pay revision (3rd PRC) will be implemented from 01.01.2017.
Junior Engineer Basic Pay
After implementation of the 2nd PRC Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Junior Engineers revised pay scale is 13600-25420. This scale doesn’t give a clear idea of payment of Junior Engineers. It is just a range of basic pay in which JEs are fixed. Generally, new appointees are placed at the minimum of the pay scales in which they are recruited. In this case, basic pay of new JEs will be Rs 13600/-. Apart from basic pay Dearness allowances are also added in salary. Current IDA rates are 120.3%.
Total salary = 13600 + 13600 X 120.3%
It means a new BSNL TTA get minimum Rs 29212/- in hand salary. Transportation allowances & other cash benefits are also provided but they are below Rs 1000/- per month. Dearness allowances are revised upwards after every 3 months of the period.
Provident fund is deposited in EPF employee’s account. 12% of basic pay & DA ( 3595) is deducted from employee’s salary. The equal amount (Rs 3595/-) is also provided by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited or employer which also deposits into EPF account of the employee. Total Rs Rs 7190 would be deposited into your EPF account as per current rates.
House Rent Allowances
If you are taking companies accommodation then you wouldn’t be eligible for HRA. Otherwise, you would get 10% or 20% or 30% of Basic pay depending upon the city of posting.
13600 X 10% = Rs 1360/-
13600 X 20% = Rs 2720/-
13600 X 30% = Rs 4080/-

The Miniratna Company provides the medical scheme to all of its employees. Under this medical scheme employee and his/her, dependents are covered. The Company pays the whole amount for Indoor treatment (hospitalization) expenditure in selected hospital. In the case of outdoor treatment certain amount is reimbursed after treatment.
