7110 Vacancies in Haryana Police Department for the post of SI and Constable

The Government of Haryana has notified the vacancy for the post of Constable, and Sub Inspector in the Haryana Police department. The interested candidates can apply online from the Haryana Staff Selection Commision from the 28 April 2018. The last date for the online application is 28 May 2018 midnight i.e. 11:59 PM.

In this post, I will share the eligibility criteria, selection procedure, seat distribution (category wise), application fee etc for the Haryana Police Constable post and Sub Inspector.

Hence due to the huge number of vacancy, the chances of selection are more in this year. Let’s see the eligibility criteria for each post.

Haryana Police Constable

The eligibility criteria for the post of constable in kept 12th standard only. All Higher secondary school examination passed candidates who have crossed the 18th year of age are eligible to apply for the constable post in the revised pay scale of 21700-69100.


The applicant must have passed the High School examination with Hindi/Sanskrit.

Application Fee

The candidate can fill the fee online via net banking facility or via e-challan through Banks (SBI, PNB, IDBI banks) facilities. The criteria for the fee is as follows

  • Gen Male or Female from Other states: Rs 100/-
  • Female: Rs 50/-
  • SC/BC Candidates of Haryana State: Rs 25/-
  • SC/BC Candidates of Haryana State: Rs 13/-
  • Ex-serviceman of Haryana: Nill

Haryana Police Sub Inspector

The Sub Inspector cadre is a group C post in the most of the state police. In order to become a Sub Inspector in the Haryana police, one should have a Graduation or equivalent qualification from the government recognized university or college. Apart from this he/she also had studied a Hindi/Sanskrit up to 10th Class. Here are the full eligibility criteria for the SI of Haryana.

Application Fee for SI

Those who are applying for the post of Sub Inspector in the Haryana Police department. They can submit the fee either online through Net Banking facility or via challan through State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank or IDBI.

  • General category Male or Female from any other state: Rs 150/-
  • General category Female: Rs 75/-
  • SC/BC Candidates of Haryana State: Rs 35/-
  • SC/BC Candidates of Haryana State: Rs 18/-
  • Ex-serviceman of Haryana: Nill

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for Police Constable and Sub Inspector post is same.  It is divided into four main parts:

Written Test: 80% Weightage ( Final marks)

Physical Screening Test

Physical Measurement Test

Additional Qualification: 10% Weightage (Final Marks)

Miscellaneous: 10% Weightage (Final Marks)

Let’s see each process one by one

Written Test

All eligible candidates have to appear on the written test whose details are under:

  • Total Number of Questions: 100
  • Marks on each question: 0.8 (If a correct answer is chosen)
  • Duration of the test Paper: 90 Minutes
  • Negative marking: No
  • The medium of Test Paper: Hindi


The above multiple choice examination will be on following subjects:

  • General Studies
  • General Science
  • Current Affairs
  • Reasoning
  • Aptitude
  • Numerical Ability
  • Agriculture
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Basic Knowledge of Computer: (1o questions minimum)

Physical Screening Test:

On the basis of performance in the written test, 7 times the number of total vacant position in each category, shall be allowed to appear in the next round. In this case next round the Physical screening test. This round doesn’t have any weightage marks. So all those who clear this round can go for the next round of selection procedure.

In order to clear the Physical Screening test, a candidate has to qualify the Race in the prescribed time. The details of the Race is given below:

Haryana police physical screening test for constable & sub inspector

Physical measurement Test:

All those who declared qualify from Physical Screening Test will be called for measurement test as per standard prescribed in the Haryana police rules 2017. This test also qualifying in nature and doesn’t carry any marks.


Additional Qualification (10% Weightage)

The Physical Measurement round selected candidates will be called along with qualification, residential proof, identity proof and caste related documents. If they posses extra qualification then they may get athe dvantage of that in this round.

Constable Post: (Maximum 7 Marks)

  • Graduation (04 Marks)
  • Post Graduate (03 Marks additional)
  • NCC: (03 Marks depending upon the level)

SI Post: (Maximum 7 Marks)

  • 4 year Graduation degree course in Law, Engineering, Science, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Science, Police Science, Criminology from Government recognized university: (04 Marks)
  • Post Graduate Degree in above mentioned streams (03 Marks)
  • Ph.D. or M. Phil. Other than above mentioned subjects (03 Marks)
  • NCC: (03 Marks depending upon the level)

Miscellaneous (10% Weightage)

  • If no person from the amongst the candidate’s father/mother/husband/wife/brother/sister/son/daughter is/was/has been a regular employee in the Haryana state/any other Govt department or Central Govt department/Board Corporation/Company/Statutory Body/Commission or Authority of Haryana Govt or any other state Govt or Centra Govt. (05 Marks)
  • If the applicant is a Orphan/Widow (05 Marks)
  • Additional 05 marks to the applicant belongs to such a denotified tribe or Nomadic Tribe of Haryana which is neither a SC or BC.
  • Max 08 marks for adhoc or Contract employees in the Government of Haryana.
