The Maharashtra State Public Service Commission offers a wide range of career opportunities for the people belonging to Maharashtra to work at various posts at the state level.

MPSC Eligibility

In order to qualify for the Public Serviced Commission posting, it is mandatory for aspiring individuals to clear the state service commission (MPSC) examination. The MPSC requires aspirants to have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

To apply for these separate examinations, one must be a graduate in the specific field. He/ She must register oneself on the MPSC exam portal. The registration process has to be done very carefully.

The upper age limit of 33 years for a person belonging to the general category. The age limit is relaxed depending upon the category of reservation.

MPSC Post list of Higher Officers

These are Gazetted officers of Class-I or Group A rank in Maharashtra Government. They belong more to the managerial group of officers.

Deputy Collector – This person is in charge of work related to maintaining general law and order in the area allotted, revenue collection, and matters related to land, issuing birth, death and marriage certificates. They are responsible for all the government properties and land.

Deputy Superintendent of Police/ ACP: To carry out all the work related to law and order assigned to him/ her. He is required to supervise all the work and cases in the office of superintendent of police.

Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax: To ensure enforcement and administration of commercial taxes, maintaining a monthly collection and balance statement

Deputy Chief Executive Officer: Responsible for governance, planning, and execution. Development of policies and strategies for proper functioning.

Registrar of Cooperative Societies: To ensure the timely election of management committees, settling disputes of cooperative societies, inspection of societies, to approve registration and resignation in the housing cooperative.

Superintendent of State Excise Department: Monitoring collection of excise duties, responsible for manufacturing, sales and transport liquor, intoxicants and other goods with come under the excise department and collecting intelligence reports and carrying out raids at illicit manufacturing and transport units.

Block Development Officer: Supervisor to the extension and executive officer, to follow instructions issued by the collector, chief executive officer, commissioner, secretary in charge, MLA or MP. This person is in charge of the block allotted to him. Planning and development of the allotted block.

Officer of Finance accounts and audits: maintenance and presentation of accounts and balance reports, general supervision of funds and properties and carrying out regular audits.

Tahsildar: In charge of proper collection and maintenance of revenue accounts and revenue records.

These officers have duties almost similar to the Group-A officers. Most of the appointments of Group B officers is done through promotions. The non-gazetted officers do not receive administrative roles for example Central Police officers and State Inspectors.

Assistant Block Development Officer

Chief Officer – Nagar Palika/ Parishad: Responsible for development and maintenance of the basic infrastructure of the Nagar Parishad such as roads, hospitals, schools, water supply, waste disposal, keeping a record of births and deaths.

Assistant Section Officer

Deputy Education Officer: Works in alliance with the Chief Education officer to carry out the efficient administration of schools within the district.

  2. I am studying diploma in civil engineering of three years. After completing diploma can I appear to mpsc exam for and police officers post.

    • Graduation is must for MP PSC examination. So you need to take admission in the Graduation to join MP PSC post in Madhya Pradesh Govt.

  3. If a person is from uttar pradesh and with open cast so that person can do mpsc bcoz I have a dout that only people belonging from maharashtra can do this so is it possible for up people also
