PGCIL Executive Trainee Salary in Hand

Power Grid Corporation of India provides best CTC among government PSUs. The basic pay of newly recruited ET will start from Rs 60,000 on the E3 pay scale (60,000-1,80,000). On that basic pay, the employees will also get Dearness allowances, House Rent allowances, Provident Fund, superannuation benefits, gratuity etc. You can get the salary breakup for the Executive Trainees of PGCIL in below table.

After the implementation of 3rd PRC POWER GRID Corporation had revised the pay scales of the Officers post which came into effect from 01.01.2017. The details of the pay scales for an Executive position at PGCIL is mentioned in the points below:

Power Grid PAY SCALES from 01.01.2017

  1. The existing structure of grades and entitlements in the case of executives will remain same wherever there is a sharing of pay scales.
  2. Applications for board level posts in Schedule A CPSEs shall be provided to Public Enterprise Selection Board in respect of executives in E8 and above grades only.
  3. The rate of annual increment in the revised scales of pay shall be three percent.
  4. The current and corresponding revised scale of pay effective from 01.01.2007 for the Engineers are mentioned in the table below:

Dearness Allowance

The Dearness Allowance in the Revised pay scales as on 01.01.2017 shall be zero, linked to All India Consumer Price Index. It gets revised after every 3 months of period. The Government of India releases the revised rates through the official website.


The house rent allowance (HRA) is at the following rates:

  1. What would be the in hand salary of executive trainee finance in the first year i.e., the training period and the subsequent years?

  2. Currently I’m working at PGCIL as a Field Engineer on contract basis and as of now I’m getting consolidated salary of 33,000.

    7th pay is already applied for permanent employees but not for us. Will it will be applied for us too?????

    • The 3rd PRC is only for the permanent employees of the company. So you can’t claim for it.
      However, you can write a representation to revise the contract engineers pay structure.

  3. I got 55.50% in diploma ,and i got 76% in BE , does it affect any PSU`s criteria ?(they said that , required minimum 60% all sem ,but i have low in diploma)

    • If you are preparing for GATE, most PSUs consider the B.E./ marks. So you need not worry.
      Many Private organization especially software companies put the criteria for more than 60% marks in the 10th, 12th/Diploma & Engineering.

  4. I have completed from NE Engg. College, Israna, Panipat from CSE in year 2015. I have got CGAP approx. 94%. Presently, I am working in INFOSYS, Mysore since Oct.2015 as I was placed by my college. Now I have got many experience and now I am interested to go into Govt. Job for getting more & more experience.
