The State Bank of India, Inda’s largest public sector bank announced the recruitment of 9633 Junior associates with recent advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2017-18/10. The vacancies are filling up the vacant post in Customer Support & Sales department in the clerical cadre. That also means the recently advertised posts are equivalent to SBI Clerk.
SBI Junior Associates Examination Schedule
The examination is going to be held in two phases I & II. Phase-I is named as Preliminary exam & Phase –II will be called for Main examination. The preliminary exam is tentatively scheduled for the March/April month and Mains will be held on 12 May 2018.
Junior Associates Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be a graduate on or before 01.01.2018 in any discipline from the Central Government recognized university.
The candidate’s age must not be less than 20 years & not elder than 28 years from the reference date 01/01/2018. Or one can say that candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1990 and not later than 01.01.1998.

Note: If a candidate is expecting age relaxation in a certain category, he/she has to produce the proper certificate issued by the competent authority of Govt of India/State Government for the same at the time of document verification.

How to apply for SBI JA
The interested candidates have to fill out online application form through SBI Official website.
As earlier explained in this article that selection process comprises of two stages i.e. preliminary & Mains. Prelim will be an online objective type exam comprising of 100 unique questions of English language, Numerical Ability & Reasoning ability with the total duration of 1Hour.

The prelim is just to filter out candidates for the main examination. On the basis of prelim performance, the total 10 times of total vacancy candidates will be allowed to appear in the main examination. The prelim marks will not have any weigtage on final merit list. There is no individual subject wise cut off for the prelim exam. Hence total marks will be counted for next round eligibility.

Mains exam also divided into sections and each section has been given a finite period of time to attempt the questions. This test also an online objective type and there will be a negative marking of 1/4th against each wrong answer.
There are a minimum qualifying marks criteria for the Main examination and same will be decided by the State bank of India.
Local Language Test
Suppose one candidate is from Madhya Pradesh and he has completed schooling up to 12th from MP only, and he has applied for the Maharashtra state vacancy. As Maharashtra’s local language is Marathi, so this candidate has to appear in local language test of Marathi before the joining SBI. If he clears the Marathi test successfully, he will be selected for the Maharashtra state SBI.
As per the official advertisement of SBI, a 50% of state wise vacancies will be kept a waitlist. Say for an example there are 258 vacancies in MP hence after the final selection of 258 top rankers, next 129 candidates will be kept on the waitlist. This wait list will be valid for the one year. If some people will opt out from the post or not join due to any reason, the chance will be given to the waitlisted student as per their rank in the main examination.
SBI Junior associates salary
As the Junior associates cadre is equivalent to the clerk, hence their emoluments will also be same as SBI Clerk salary. The pay scale at the time of appointment will be 11765-655/3-13730-815/3-16175-980/4-20095-1145/7-28110-2120/1- 30230-1310/1-31450.
As per advertisement, the total salary per month will be around 23600 per month.
The probation period for the newly recruited candidate will be of 6 months.
