All you need to know about SBI Bank Probationary Officer Recruitment Procedure

State Bank of India issues every year notification for the recruitment of Probationary officers for which application form are filled online. Last time the advertisement came on Feb 2017 and the last date to submit the application was 06-03.2017. How to become SBI PO

State Bank of India publishes the advertisement for the recruitment of Probationary Officers via newspaper and its official website. They also release the date of start of the online application, examination date, eligibility criteria, exam center etc. So you need to follow the instructions issued by State Bank of India.

Eligibility

All the Graduates (Engineering, BA, BSc, BBA, B.Com, etc) who have completed the degree from Government Recognized University are eligible to apply for SBI PO exam. The final year appearing candidates are also eligible provided that they should produce degree certificate at the time of interview. The final year students can submit their provisional certificate if they don’t have final degree certificate due to various reasons.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit allowed for the candidates to appear in the exam is 21 and maximum is 30. However, the relaxation in the upper age limit is as per rules framed by the government of India.

Selection Procedure

SBI PO exam is divided into three parts Phase-I, Phase-II, and Phase-III. Phase-I is just for the screening of purpose and marks obtained in this section not counted while finalizing the merit list.

Phase-I

Phase-I is also known as the preliminary exam which will have 100 multiple choices objective question of Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & English language. For more details, you can check the following table.

The each section in the preliminary examination has individual cut off which will be decided by the State Bank of India. As per Bank, they take approximately 20 times of total vacancies in each category. It means if there are 2000 vacancy for a year then approximate 40000 candidates are allowed to appear for next phase of the exam.

Phase-II

This section will have both objective type and descriptive type online test. The Objective type test which contains 4 section, will be of 3 hours duration and 200 marks. Each section will have separate cut off. You can find more details about the SBI PO online objective test in below table

The descriptive test is about letter/essay writing of 50 marks and a candidate will get 30 minutes for it. In order to appear in Phase –III, the candidate must clear the cut off of Objective paper as well as descriptive paper of phase-II. The phase-II will have total weightage of 75% in the final merit list.

Phase-III Group Exercise & Personal Interview

The Group Exercise and Personal Interview will be of 20 & 30 marks respectively. This phase will have total weightage of 25% in final merit list.

The State Bank of India will prepare a final merit list on the basis of phase-II & phase-III section marks and same will be published in SBI’s official website and Rojgar Samachar.



SBI Bank PO Salary

The selected candidates will be offered the basic pay of Rs. 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the pay scale of Rs.23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 (Scale-I). Online Application

Candidates have to fill the SBI Probationary Officer job application through online mode only. The examination fee also paid online. Before start filling the form, you must keep the scanned passport size photo and scanned signature copy in desired formats. Special care should be taken during the online for submission as the submitted detail can’t be changed.

Admit Card

As most of the recruitment process of SBI PO is online, hence you will get the admit card online which you have to download from SBI Official website. The hard copy of admit card will not be sent by post. Candidates have to carry their identity cards during the exam to check the identity.

Number of Attempts

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of chances permissible are not eligible to apply. The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on 18.04.2010. Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.
