UPPCL Assistant Engineer Salary after 7th Pay Commission

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited established in the year of January 2000 by implementing the power sector reforms in India as well as in the UP state.

The Company mainly transmit the electric power in the whole state and also distribute to the consumers.
It receives the power from the central government power generating Companies as well as in the state PSUs like NTPC, THDC, UPRVUNL, and UPJVNL.



UPPCL Assistant Engineer Salary

The UPPCL recruits Graduate Engineers for the post of Assistant Engineers in the level 10 of 7th CPC revised pay matrix. The revised pay of the newly recruited AE would be 56,100 which is equivalent to the Group A officers in the state & central government departments.

Hence the initial basic pay for the engineers will be 56,100 from the 01.01.2016 which is the date of pay revision in the Uttar Pradesh. So total salary of UPPCL Assistant Engineer is Rs 78,000/-per month, which is quite good at the initial stage of career.



Junior Engineer Salary after 7th CPC

Junior Engineer is a non-executive post in the Company whose pay scale was 9,300 – 34,800 with Grade pay of Rs 4,600 per month. The revised basic pay after 7th Pay commission has been fixed at Rs 44,900/-. The details of UPPCL Junior Engineer shown in the above table.

Hence a newly recruited Junior Engineer in the UPPCL/UPPTCL is Rs 53,000/- per month after the 7th CPC which is quite good for a Diploma Engineering Graduates at the initial stage of the job.

While calculating both the salary I haven’t deducted the Income Tax from the salary. So the actual salary which deposits in on the individual account may be less due to income tax and variations in Allowances due to the city of posting, etc.

Work Profile

As the UPPCL is responsible for the transmission as well as the distribution of Electric Power in the Uttar Pradesh State. So the duties of engineers also get changed due to the department.

UPPCL AE/JE Job Profile

The distribution division engineers are responsible to make available electric supply to the end users. They maintain the local transmission lines and end users connection. They install supply meters and disconnect the household or business premise supply on non-payment, keep watch on electricity theft cases and issue demand note etc. Every Assistant Engineer has one or more JEs and office clerks, peon, and labor to carry out day to day activities.
They inform the customer and farmers about any load shedding in their areas.

Junior Engineers visits on the field and s/he is supported by the lineman. They are the frontman who receives the all type of complaints like meter malfunctions, Supply Voltage issues, DP or Transformer Faults, line break or damage, etc from the customer and rectify them on time. Junior Engineer distributes the Electricity bill to respective lineman for further distribution of bills to the end customers.

UPPTCL AE/JE duties & Responsibility

The Electricity Transmission Company transmits the power supply via transmission lines to each and every district of the state. These high voltage lines maintained and erected by the Engineers posted in this division. They have to coordinate and work with the Power Grid or POSOCO Employees and the distribution division executives. Their main aim is to maintain the lossless transmission lines without any downtime.

Junior Engineer works under the Assistant Engineer and his/her main work to follow the instructions of the AE. A JE regularly visits in the field to supervise the installation, erection or any regular maintenance activity in the lines or in the power stations. He/she reports to AE for any immediate help and requirement of any materials.
