Fire Operator Job Profile
Fire operator is on call duty all the 24 hours and operates fast with full alertness. During the normal time, he conducts mock emergency drill and fire drill to verify alarm system and check alertness of people and systems for safety. He checks fire repellent, sandbag, water availability, staircase emergency escape routes.
He operates ladder trucks, large jumbo – tankers for water, motor pumps hose pipe, ambulance, breathing apparatus, concrete& steel cutters for rescue work.
How to be Fire operator in West Bengal
WB Public Service Commission invites online applications for the Fire Operator Through WBPSC.
Age between 18 to 27 years, (relaxation as per rules)
Qualification: pass in the Madhyamik examination, and able to speak, write and read Bengali ( not applicable if mother tongue is Nepali)
Height and waist (167.3 centimeters, 81.3 centimeters expanded 86.3 centimeters).
One year of experience in fire safety or a 2-year ITI certificate.
Selection will be done on the basis of :
- written exam,
- fitness ( endurance-Efficiency testing)
- physical measurement standard
- personality assessment
